Misdreavus has a catch rate of 45, which means there’s about a 5.9% chance of it being caught with a regular Poké Ball at full health. Misdreavus can be found in the Lost Tower at any time of day, and players can reach this location on their way to Solaceon Town between Hearthome City and Veilstone City. Additionally, if they’re travelling through Eterna Forest with Cheryl, wild Pokémon will appear in pairs, so trainers will have to defeat the other Pokémon before being able to catch Misdreavus in a Poké Ball. Misdreavus will only appear in the Eterna Forest at night, however, so players will have to play after the sun has set in order to find one. Trainers can explore Eterna Forest after earning their first gym badge in Oreburgh City, making Misdreavus available early on in the game. There are four locations in Pokémon Shining Pearl where players can find and catch Misdreavus, including Eterna Forest and the Lost Tower as well as the Grand Underground’s Dazzling Caves and Stargleam Caverns. However, Brilliant Diamond players who want to add a Misdreavus to their party or complete its information in the PokéDex will have to trade with a player who has the Shining Pearl version. Additionally, players will be able to add its evolved form to the PokéDex as well when they face Fantina’s Mismagius in the Hearthome Gym. While Brilliant Diamond players are unfortunately unable to catch this Pokémon in the wild, there are several trainers throughout the game that have a Misdreavus in their party, so Brilliant Diamond players can add Misdreavus to the PokéDex by encountering it without necessarily having to catch it.

It’s a great Ghost-Type to add to any Pokémon team, along with its evolved form of Mismagius, which requires the Dusk Stone to evolve. Misdreavus can also learn powerful moves like Perish Song and Pain Split, the latter having been its signature move when it was introduced to the franchise. This also makes it immune to Normal and Fighting-Type moves, and thanks to its Levitate ability, it’s also immune to Ground-Type moves. As a pure Ghost-Type Pokémon, Misdreavus is strong against Poison and Bug-Types, but weak to Dark-Types and its own Ghost-type.
